The Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) has been honoured with the prestigious title of “Leading Association of Private Unaided Colleges of the Region” by the Finance Minister of Punjab S. Harpal Singh Cheema. The award ceremony was also graced by the Cabinet Minister Aman Arora. The award was received by Dr. Anshu Kataria, President PUCA and Chairman Aryans Group of Colleges.
On the occasion, several prominent members including S. Manjit Singh, Adv. Amit Sharma, S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, S. Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Ashwini Garg, Ashok Garg, Mohit Mahajan, S. Swindar Singh Gill, Rajesh Garg, and Harinder Kanda were present and congratulated Dr. Kataria on this achievement.
Established in 2015 with the blessings of the Punjab Unaided Technical Institutions Association (PUTIA), PUCA has consistently worked towards the upliftment of higher education. The association has actively resolved numerous issues through continuous follow-ups with the government and has also secured significant relief for students through interventions in the Hon’ble High Court and Supreme Court.
Over the past 4–5 years, PUCA has emerged as one of the leading associations in the country by successfully advocating for the extension of admission deadlines, benefiting lakhs of students seeking admission to technical courses across India. Today, PUCA represents around 250 colleges in Punjab and continues to expand its reach nationally.
Under the leadership of Dr. Anshu Kataria, PUCA has set an ambitious mission to unite nearly 8,000 technical colleges across the country. In the first phase, expansion has already been achieved in Rajasthan (Jaipur) and Maharashtra, with plans to cover remaining states in the coming phases. The ultimate goal is to bring institutions under one umbrella through the formation of the Federation of Self Financing Technical Institutions (FSFTI), India.
