Dr Anshu Kataria, President FSFTI addressed unaided technical colleges in Pune

Calling upon nearly 10,000 self-financed unaided technical colleges across India to unite on a single national platform, Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, FSFTI (All India) and PUCA, emphasized that collective efforts are vital to transform India into a global knowledge and technical education hub. He urged institutions to collaborate in delivering quality education and strengthening India’s position as a global knowledge superpower.
A meeting was organized by the Association of Management of Unaided Institutes in Rural Area, Maharashtra in Abhinav College of Law (Abhinav Charitable Trust) and hosted by Sh. Rajiv Partap and Sh. Ramdas Zol, who welcomed Dr Anshu Kataria & Dr. K. V. K. Rao, General Secretary, FSFTI & other educationists and institutional representatives from across the country.
Dr. Kataria stated that self-financed institutions form the backbone of India’s higher and technical education and called for fair, transparent, and stable policies, along with timely scholarship support to ensure student welfare and institutional sustainability. He stressed that direct disbursement of Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) funds to colleges is essential to maintain academic continuity and financial stability.
Dr. K. V. K. Rao, General Secretary, FSFTI, highlighted the need for urgent policy reforms, particularly on admission cut-off dates, and supported challenging the Parsvnath judgment to safeguard academic interests. Key deliberations focused on PMS disbursement to colleges, admission deadlines, Student Credit Card Scheme implementation, and NEET applicability for Paramedical and Allied Health courses.
Dr. Kataria has emerged as a leading national voice for unaided self-financed colleges, advocating for student-centric policies, direct scholarship transfers, and stronger institutional representation before governments and regulators.
It is to be mentioned that India currently has over 10,000 higher education institutions serving 4.33 crore students, with 79% enrolled in Undergraduate and 12% in Postgraduate programs (AISHE data), underscoring the critical role of unaided institutions in building India’s skilled workforce, innovation ecosystem, and economic growth.
