A seminar on Artificial Intelligence Organized by Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA)

India is on course to emerge as a global superpower by 2047, powered by innovation, skill development, and the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), said Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). He addressed on Enabling AI: Making Future Ready Campuses” organized by the Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA). The session was presided over by Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA & Chairman Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura Near Chandigarh.
On the occasion, renowned educationists include Adv Amit Sharma, Amritsar Group of Colleges; Ashwani Garg, SVIET, Banur; S. Gurpreet Singh, Universal Group of Colleges, were on Dais. Sessions were taken by Atheer Al-Sarayfi, Netherlands — Inner Engineering Ishanga, Isha Foundation; Sanyam Dixit, Director, DUCAT School of AI, Prateek Gupta, Sr. Data Scientist, DUCAT School of AI.
Prof. Sitharam emphasized that “AI for All — empowering minds, transforming lives” must be the guiding principle for the future. “The power of intelligence should not be confined to machines or a few minds, but shared with every human being to unlock a smarter, fairer, and more inclusive world,” he said. “Nations that will truly lead are those that teach their citizens to think freely, learn continuously, and act ethically.”
Highlighting AICTE’s major initiatives such as AI for All, Faculty Development Programs in AI and Data Sciences, and the Smart India Hackathon, Prof. Sitharam noted that these programs have demonstrated how large-scale capability building can be achieved with both speed and inclusivity. He further mentioned that AI could transform nearly 38 million jobs by 2030, primarily through productivity gains and new opportunities in healthcare, agriculture, education, and manufacturing.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anshu Kataria said “PUCA, representing over 250 colleges across Punjab, is committed to empowering faculty and students with futuristic skills. Prof. Sitharam’s vision of an AI-driven India perfectly aligns with our mission to ensure that every institution in Punjab contributes to building a technologically advanced and ethically strong nation.”
Prof. Sitharam concluded by urging all Punjab Colleges to integrate AI literacy at all levels of education, preparing the next generation to innovate responsibly and contribute meaningfully to India’s vision of becoming a technologically empowered superpower by 2047.
On the occasion various member colleges representatives including Chandigarh Group of Collegesi, Bahra University, Mohali; GNA University; Lamrin Tech University; SVIET; Quest Group, Universal Group, Chandigarh University, CT University, Sukhmani Group, Baba Shri Chand College, Ram Devi Jindal Group, Bharat Group, Gulzar Group, Doaba Group, Satyam Group, Swift Group, BIS Group, PIMT, Khanna, RIET Phagwara, KCT Group were also present.
