Federation of Self Financing Technical Institutions (FSFTI), All India  urged the central government to extend the cut-off dates of admission for all technical courses in all approved colleges of the Country.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, FSFTI and President, Punjab Unaided College Association (PUCA) said that this year, 23.3 Lac students were stucked because of the ongoing court case of NEET in the Supreme Court. Due to this court case, not only 23.3 lac but other students were also kept on waiting for the final judgment as well as beginning of the counseling and because of this, students were unable to secure their seats.

KVK Rao, General Secretary, FSFTI urged the University Grant Commission (UGC) and All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi (AICTE) to extend the date for admissions. From January 2024, various countries including US, Canada, Europe, Australia etc also enforced restrictions on International student visas. Lacs of students from North India specially from Punjab, who earlier to go these countries for their further studies are not able to get a visa this year  and have decided to continue their studies in their own country, India. They were not able to take the admission on time as their documents were submitted for the application of visa.

Adv Amit Sharma, Senior Vice president, PUCA mentioned that last year, the Supreme court has also decided the cut-off date for the admissions to 30th October. Keeping the interest of the students into consideration, the cut-off date of admissions in all the courses in India should be extended to 30th October.
