Governor Punjab appreciated Anshu Kataria’s efforts to make all campuses drug free
Taking a landmark step towards eradicating substance abuse among the youth, the Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) today launched its special Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign. The campaign was formally inaugurated by Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, with Rajya Sabha MP S. Satnam Singh Sandhu attending as the Special Guest. The event was presided over by Dr. Anshu Kataria, President of PUCA and Chairman of Aryans Group of Colleges,Rajpura.
The campaign launch took place at the CII Complex, Sector 31-A, Chandigarh, and witnessed participation from renowned personalities in the fields of education, social service, and industry.
Governor Gulab Chand Kataria emphasized:
“Substance abuse not only destroys individuals but weakens the very fabric of society. Educational institutions in Punjab must take the lead in this battle. I commend PUCA for guiding our youth toward the right path.”
Rajya Sabha MP S. Satnam Singh Sandhu added:
“It is our collective responsibility to steer our youth toward positivity. This campaign is not just a beginning—it must become a people’s movement.”
Dr. Anshu Kataria, President PUCA and Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, said: “Our aim is not just awareness but action—to truly make campuses drug-free. This initiative is a social movement for the academic community.”
Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro- Chancellor, Chitkara University, remarked:
“Every educator and institution must step forward and join this mission. The future of our students lies in our hands.”
Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, Baba Farid Group, stated:
“The most powerful weapons against drug abuse are education and awareness.”
A special “Drug-Free Campus” Pledge Ceremony was held during the event, where prominent educationists from across the state took a collective oath to strive for and uphold drug-free environments in their institutions.
